The Acts 1:8 Challenge is an opportunity for Midway Community Church to declare our commitment to a comprehensive missions strategy to reach our community, our state, our continent, and our world. In Acts 1:8, Jesus tells his disciples that they are to be witnesses in Jerusalem, Judea, Samaria, and to the ends of the earth. We understand this to mean that Jesus is calling us to be on mission as well — in the Alpharetta/Cumming area, as well as from Georgia and North America out to the Nations.
Four Key Tasks
For Midway Community Church, to be on mission means involving ourselves in four key tasks:
- Learn: To learn as much as we can about what God is doing around the world, and in particular, we want to be well informed regarding the ministries of the missionaries we support
- Pray: To pray regularly and specifically for their families and their ministries
- Give: Midway has committed to give 15% of our overall budget to missionaries and mission projects in all four fields of focus
- Go: Go and be on mission by getting our body personally involved in mission opportunities
GO: Mission Opportunities
Part of the Acts 1:8 Challenge is to make sure we are on mission in our community. One of the ways we do that is by providing English Class for free on Thursday nights.
