Common Questions
Can siblings of different ages stay together?
We love that kids want to stay with their friends or siblings; however our rooms are designed for specific age groups. The lessons and games in your child’s room are specially designed for them. If your child brings a friend or sibling and they are of different ages, we will welcome them each into their age-appropriate classrooms.
What is the process of checking in my child?
At the 9:30 Sunday school and service, your first step is to bring your child to the Children’s area located to the right of the main foyer. You will be asked to fill out an information sheet of pertinent details. You can now leave your child and attend one of the many adult Sunday school classes or the Worship service.
Between the two Worship services please return to the classroom. Your child will accompany you to the sanctuary and sit with you until Pastor Ropp gives his children’s sermon. They can then leave for Noah’s Park in the children’s area to the right. If you have a 4th or 5th grader, they can also leave to attend an age-appropriate class or remain with you in the Worship service.
If you only attend at 11:00, go with your child to the sanctuary. By 11:20, Pastor Ropp will excuse your child for Noah’s Park and any 4th/5th graders can leave for their own Sunday school class.
On later visits as our guest, you will want to bring your child to their proper room.
How do I know my kids are safe?
Midway Community Church has developed a “Safe Sanctuary Policy” for our Children’s Ministry. Our number one goal is to take care of your kids and keep them safe. In addition, all of our volunteers have been cleared through a national background check for safety! We value your trust and we will not put any unsafe leaders in their classroom.
What if my child has special dietary, physical or mental needs?
If your child has special needs, whether that might be a food allergy, medical condition or learning challenge, please let our staff know. We would love to provide any special care that your child might need.
What can my child expect?
Your child can expect to learn the truth from God’s Word and to have a great time in our Children’s Ministry! In all our rooms a lesson is taught. After teaching time your kids will either have fun working on a craft, maybe eating a snack, learning with friends or talking to teachers.
